Welcome ladies & gents! It’s time to start decorating for Halloween, and here we’ve already started. You may have seen my Halloween mantle on Tuesday. Have you seen those adorable ceramic books for Halloween from Dollar Tree? I picked up three a few months ago, and everyone has been asking me what to do with them. Well, today I’m going to share what I did with two of mine! I will be doing something similar with the third one, but in different colors to match my master bedroom. Let’s get into it!

Supplies for Dollar Tree Halloween Ceramic Books:
- Dollar Tree Halloween ceramic books
- black chalk paint (or your choice of color)
- black metallic paint (or your color)
- DecoColor paint pen in gold (or again, whatever color fits your needs)
- my free printable book title
- pencil
- paper & printer
- Halloween raven napkins (optional)
- Mod Podge (optional)
- scissors (optional)
I plan to make other books & wanted to share my third one, but I ran out of time. So, you’ll see paint in this image that I didn’t use.

Paint the Book with a Base Coat
Before you paint your books, you need to tape of the book “pages” with painter’s tape. Line the tape up with one of the ridges and run it from the top corner to the bottom edge.

Paint the Raised Portions of the Halloween Ceramic Books
My Dollar Tree had two different Halloween ceramic books: a spiderweb one and a bat one. I bought two of the bats and one spiderweb. In these photos I’m going to share my bat one and in the video, which I hope to have up later today, I showed the spiderweb one.
First paint the raised bat and little designs beside it with black metallic paint so it stands out. I also decided to paint the raised dots with it as well so that there wasn’t too much gold. You can go ahead and do that now.

For personal use only. Feel free to download these free designs and print them or use on your Cricut projects for your own use at home. They are not for commercial use, not to be placed on items for sale. That helps me keep these printables, SVGs, and PNGs coming to you for free! Another note: you will not my logo overlay on your downloaded design. It is there to keep people from downloading the images straight from Google, or others from stealing them to use on their site. I created a title for each book that you can either print and use the carbon copy method like I did, or you can cut it with your Cricut. Remember, my logo won’t be on your downloaded copy. These are sized perfectly to fit the Dollar Tree Halloween ceramic book title sections.

Use Carbon Copy Method to Add Titles
Cut the titles apart, even cutting “The Raven” and Edgar Allen Poe apart. In the photo I hadn’t yet cut the names apart yet.

Mod Podge a Halloween Napkin on the Back of the Ceramic Book
This part is optional, but I have a little Edgar Allen Poe theme going this Halloween, so I decided to Mod Podge on a raven from a napkin I had from Dollar Tree.
Separate the 2-plies of the napkin, then cut out one of the ravens and potion bottles.
