Welcome back to our fall Decorate with Me series. I’m joining Terrie from Decorate and More with Tip and Tammy with Patina and Paint to decorate a small area of our living rooms. I’ve decided to share a small ladder shelf in the corner of my living room that I decorated for fall, but that’s not all. I’m also sharing a DIY pumpkin tutorial using the sleeve of a shirt that I found at Five Below. It had all of the fall colors that I’m using this year, so I had to grab it. Let’s get started!

When the girls and I decided to decorate a small area of our living room today, I knew this little ladder shelf was perfect. Shelving needs decor, but it can be hard to decide what to add and where. Hopefully I can give you a little inspiration on your fall shelves!
On the top shelf I started to weave a fall leaf garland around the front leg. I let it run down the next two shelves then tucked it around the back to pool on the bottom shelf. Then I placed a milk jug vase with fall stems from Hobby Lobby with my DIY flannel shirt pumpkin next to it (tutorial coming up!). On the other leg, I hung a wood “fall” bead and pumpkin hanger to even it out.
Cut Sleeve from Flannel Shirt
Now you might be wondering how I made that flannel pumpkin that so wonderfully matches my fall stems. Well, it was easy, and I’m about to show you how!
First place the styrofoam pumpkin you plan to use in one of the sleeves to see how much of it you will need. Cut off the appropriate amount, minus the cuff section.
Wrap the fabric around your pumpkin and cut off any width you don’t need. Glue it down, making sure you have enough at the top and bottom.
Add hot glue to the bottom of the pumpkin and fold the fabric in to cover it. Glue and fold neatly so the flannel pumpkin will sit neatly flat.
Finally, embellish the pumpkin.
At first I just glued moss on top without adding any definition to the sides. I decided I wanted to show the dips in the pumpkins more, so I hot glued raffia on the bottom and wrapped it up and around the pumpkins, sitting it in the dips.
What do you think?!
