Hey friends! I’ve got a really quick and affordable farmhouse DIY to share with you today, a tobacco basket with a DIY lamb’s ear and starfish wreath. It is so cute, perfect for your coastal farmhouse themed decor and costs less than $15 to make! Let’s get into it!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day! We did, my husband was actually off for once which gave us a shopping day for our trip to Owa, a theme park in Foley, AL, today. I’ll be doing a review of the park soon, so be sure to sign up for my emails you don’t miss it! Be sure to follow me on my socials so you can be alerted about new content!
- lamb’s ear stems, ring, or garland- I used a ring.
- hot glue gun
- wired ribbon- I used 1.5″ & 2.5″ ribbon, but just a 2.5” would be fine
- tape- I used painter’s tape, but any relatively strong tape will work.
- starfish or sand dollars
- wire or pipe cleaner
I got mine online from Walmart, and it was only $7. It’s 15×18, which is perfect for this. When we get home from Owa tomorrow I’ll link the product and a comparable one from Amazon.
Make the wreath base.
I used a ring of lamb’s ear leaves from Hobby Lobby for my wreath. Initially I planned to use a $5 garland from Walmart, but I was out and found the ring for about $5 during a sale and an additional coupon.
The ring was a little too big for my basket, so I cut about 2” out of it with wire cutters.
Add hot glue to the back of your starfish or sand dollars, then attach a piece of wire or a pipe cleaner.
Finally, you can add the wreath to the tobacco basket. Place the ribbon and wreath inside the basket and cut the ribbons so that your wreath will hang in the center. Cut the ribbon, leaving 2” to tape over the back.
Isn’t it cute?!
