Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! I’m choosing the features for the month of February. Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go! Linda from A Labour of Life is choosing our features for the month of May and writing the features section.
This week was our monthly Creative Craft Hop where I shared this beautiful coastal farmhouse lantern. It makes great summer decor and you can make it for under $5!
These DIY bookmarks were made with Dollar Tree cutting mats! They’re a great way to keep your child reading over the summer. You can make about 20 with one pack of mats, so they’d be easy to sell for a good profit margin! Free templates and cut files are available in the post.
This Week’s Features
We are excited about another month of sharing, linking, reading, Pinning and inspiration. Linda, from A Labour of Life is our hostess for the month of May, so let’s get started!
As I said last week, when my life gets overwhelming, I seek inspiration from all of you. If you need more inspiration and you missed last week’s party, you can check it here.
Come dazzle us with what you are making, baking, or creating this week. This weekend is Canada’s long weekend, celebrating Victoria Day, and next week is Memorial Day long weekend, so let’s celebrate a little patriotic fun, shall we?

This DIY patriotic denim banner needs limited supplies and can be made in just about 15 minutes. Creatively Beth does not disappoint with this upcycle. Perfect to kick off the patriotic celebration!

The Happy Mustard Seed is serving up a tasty treat with these fluffy, moist, and perfectly sweet patriotic cupcakes. They are baked to perfection and fitting for the summer holidays, with their subtle strawberry flavor, these vanilla cupcakes and shades of red, white, and blue.

The House on Silverado has the sweetest DIY craft to share with us. This cheap & easy paint stick flag is made in only a couple of hours, with just a few supplies, resulting in a rustic, patriotic home decor piece.

Looking for a fun and festive way to celebrate Memorial Day and the Fourth of July? Look no further than The Wooden Spoon Effects’ red white and blue popsicles! Made with delicious fruit in patriotic colors, these popsicles are perfect for kids and adults alike.
And although it’s not sporting the three colors, I had to share this sweet tea from Spaceships and Laser Beams because sweet tea and the USA just go together for me.
