Don’t forget to link up on Happiness is Homemade. Now let’s get to the posts that I shared over the last week.
It’s the end of the school year and a lot of schools like to pack in all of their “fun” events during these last few weeks. State tests are over so they don’t have to focus on the “book learning” academic stuff as much. My son had a field trip to the WWII Museum in New Orleans. I chaperoned and we had a lot of fun! Check out my field trip packing list to make your chaperoning a success!
Today is our monthly Creative Craft Hop, and I’m sharing this DIY coastal farmhouse lantern that I love! Even though it has me up at 3am writing this link party lol. Be sure to check out my post to see the unreal lengths I had to go to in order to finish this baby! It turned out so great, and I can’t wait to get out my other coastal farmhouse decor to decorate my home with along with this lantern!

This Week’s Features!

Summer is in full swing here on the Gulf Coast, and it looks like that’s the case for Texas as well with these gorgeous heirloom roses in milk glass vases on Cecilia from My Thrift Store Addictions’ summer mantle! I love the simplicity along with the beautiful chalkboard drawing. Be sure to head over and pin the inspiration for your own summer mantles or vignettes.
My sweet friend Gail over at Purple Hues and Me made this beautiful, pressed flower vase using real flowers! Aren’t these little azaleas so pretty? I love the color, and they look great pressed along with the small purple phlox. Gail pressed these flowers with an iron! You have to go see her method because it sure beats the other long pressing processes.
Flowers are blooming everywhere at the moment, so it’s a great time to check out MaryJo’s, from Master”pieces” of My Life, post to check out all of the fabulous ideas for using different types of baskets and totes to style with flowers and greenery for any season. I love her tote styled with long branches of lavender in front of her new Dutch door. Isn’t it beautiful even on its own?! You can also check out her posts about that from last year (I believe).
Y’all know how much I love a good upcycle, especially a super affordable or free one, so I had to feature this DIY vase and floral arrangement made by Cara of Vintage Style Gal. You’ll never guess what it was made with. Ok, I’ll give you a hint, you probably would’ve trashed it! Be sure to check it out!
Finally, staying with our floral theme all the way through, is this late spring mantle with thrift store finds curated by Marie at This Dear Casa.
