Cookbook author and social media star Molly Baz is all about making food fun, accessible, and less stuffy. And if you’ve seen her Los Angeles ranch-style house, complete with its butter yellow kitchen and Caesar salad-inspired bathroom, then you know she brings that same playful ethos to home design. That’s why her just-released Crate & Barrel collection, with its bold primary colors and quirky design details, strikes just the right balance between fun and functional for anyone who likes to cook or entertain.

Nearly 60 items strong, the collaboration boasts stylish cooking tools and kitchen staples with a decidedly Baz flair, from creamy yellow stoneware and squiggle silicone trivets to her take on trendy colored glassware and geometric dish towels. You’ll find lots of cool curves, warm woods, and wire detailing in the mix, too, giving the collection a bit of a mid-century modern meets Pop Art sensibility on the whole — with just a little bit of Memphis influence thrown in for good measure. And what would a collection by Baz be without a vessel or two for salt, her hero seasoning? The collab delivers by including both a wooden cellar and set of salt and pepper mills.

If I had to pick a standout category, though, I’d say it’s the serving items, which are built for easy entertaining and conversation pieces in their own rights. From tiered baskets to the cutest condiment caddy and beyond, these items will shine on a dining table and, in some cases, may also find an everyday spot on your kitchen counters. It’s all in how you style them, and Baz, naturally, has some thoughts there as well.

“The best thing you can do when you entertain is to serve up the unexpected,” says Baz. “Don’t take things too seriously! Get a little wacky with it. Did I design an ice bucket for wine only to then use it as a serving vessel for fried chicken more than anything else? Yes, I did. Did I create a seafood tower and then find myself serving crudites or bread and butter in it instead? Absolutely. Think outside of the box and try displaying things in unconventional ways,” says Baz. “It’s always WAY more fun.”

Whether you’re a pro in the kitchen, just getting your footing with cooking, or simply admire a well-designed object, there’s something in the Molly Baz for Crate & Barrel collaboration for you. Prices start at just $9.95, and nothing is over $130.
