Months ago I ordered wood letters to place on my rustic ladder shelf. Well, I finally got around to decorating them! Today I’m going to share how I created beautiful wood letters covered with paper flowers. These are great for shelf decor in your living room, office, or even larger versions for walls in nurseries. I’ll also share some free rolled paper flower cut files along with several different stems of leaves.
Supplies for wood letters with rolled paper flowers:
Paint the wood letters with chalk paint.
I used Folk Art’s coral chalk paint on my N and their elephant gray on the R.
For personal use only. Feel free to download these free designs and print them or use on your Cricut projects for your own use at home. They are not for commercial use, not to be placed on items for sale. That helps me keep these printables, SVGs, and PNGs coming to you for free! Another note: you will not my logo overlay on your downloaded design. It is there to keep people from downloading the images straight from Google, or others from stealing them to use on their site. Thanks for understanding! Feel free to share this post for your friends and family to make their own projects with this design!
I created three paper flower options for you to use on your wood letters. The file is a PNG which works the same as an SVG for your Cricut. A PNG allows you to resize the image without losing quality.
A few weeks ago I shared three flower cut files in my mason jar sign post that you can download if you’d like three more options.
I sized my flowers to 2″, 2.5″, and 3″ circles. That made 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ paper flowers to decorate my wood letters with. I used larger ones on the mason jar sign.
Once you have downloaded the need files, upload them to Cricut Design Space and cut many, many paper flowers and some leaves of your choice! I used 11 on the N and 12 on the R, then four stems of leaves.
You will want to use at least two different colors of cardstock. I used three, but two of them are very similar. A light, light, light peach, light tan, and navy. The gold metallic cardstock for the leaves really makes the wood letters look amazing.
Roll, roll, and roll more paper flowers.
When you have enough paper flowers to cover your wood letter with, get to rollin’!
Ok, first let’s talk about my manicure. I know ladies, I’m ashamed. I had major computer issues today (yesterday for y’all), and I had no time to redo my gel polish. It takes forever to soak off and I just had no time. So, I humbly ask for your forgiveness and beg you to ignore it! I know you do because you are all amazing, and you’re all crafters and women who have no time just like me. Now, let’s roll. (Punny, I know.)
Place the tip of a wood skewer on the end of the spiral cut paper flower.
Place the flowers on your wood letter until you’re happy with the look. I started at the middle and worked out.
Glue them in place with hot glue.
Here’s a quick video tutorial that will show you how to roll paper flowers and decorate your wood letter with them.
That’s it! Your wood letter plastered with beautiful flowers is complete!
Remember, this is a blog hop so keep reading to see the other projects.
I just love these floral wood letters. For me, the gold leaves just set it all off.
