A recent one worth mentioning was spotted by Instagram fan account @costcobuys, where a video shows a selection of shag area rugs on sale for $126.99. The sizable rugs measure 6.5 feet by 9 feet and come in a variety of patterns.
“Love ours. Soooooo soft and comfy!” one commenter says. “I got the beige one for our new home,” another added.
If you’re new to the shag rug life, though, there are some things to be aware of. The plush, high pile carpets can shed, and they can be tough to keep clean, depending on your vacuum and its settings. One Instagram commenter says, “These rugs look so nice but beware if you put them in a high traffic area — they smash pretty quickly and even with regular vacuuming and raking, they don’t fluff back up.” Another noted for the parents that it’s “where Goldfish crackers go to die.”
